The periodic table is a common method of displaying the elements.

Each element is put into a period and a group. The period number signifies the amount of electron shells the element has, and the group number tells us how many electrons there are in their outer shell.

In most periodic tables, the atomic number or proton number is displayed in the top-left corner of each box, the relative atomic mass(RAM) is displayed in the bottom-left corner, and the element symbol is displayed in the centre.
