Sulphur is an element, it is represented by the letter S. It is a yellow solid at room temperature. It has an Atomic Number of 16 and Atomic Weight of 32. It is mined in Louisiana(Usa), Poland and Russia by the Frasch proces.
The Frasch ProcessEdit
This is the process used for getting Sulphur from Sulphur beds underground. It is named after Hermann Frasch who invented the process. Superheated water and compressed air is forced into the ground through pipes. This then forces out molten Sulphur and water. After the water and molten Sulphur has left the pipes they can be easily separated. The Sulphur obtained in this way is 99.5% pure and can be used directly.
